Wanda Deglane is a 20 -year-old Capricorn from Glendale, Arizona. Though she has had a profound love for writing all her life, she only recently started to write poetry in earnest, and the passion has taken off more quickly than she could have imagined.
Wanda is a Psychology and Family & Human Development major at Arizona State University. She enjoys studying intimate relationships and family dynamics, and strives to one day become a marriage and family therapist. Wanda divides her time up with schoolwork and writing, as well as spending her weekends with her family and loved ones, and her beloved dog children, Leia and Luke.
For now, poetry remains a hobby that has taken over much of Wanda's life, but she is excited to see where it will go. She has been seriously submitting for a year, and has been published or accepted in over 100 literary magazines and journals, including Glass Poetry, Rust + Moth, and Former Cactus. She is the editor-in-chief of a new literary and arts magazine, Honey & Lime, which was started in November 2018. Wanda also self-published her first poetry collection in May of 2018, Rainlily, which deals with the themes of mental illness, trauma, and healing. Her micro-chapbook, Thinsg that Will Happen After the End of the World No One Will Be Around to Witness, was published in October of 2018 by post ghost press. She has been busily writing more books, and has two chapbooks forthcoming: Lady Saturn (Rhythm & Bones Lit, February 2019), andVenus in Bloom (Porkbelly Press, 2019).
